Some useful videos that I watched that talk from both sides of the voting discourse. They use some interesting tactics and raise some valid points.
Russell Brand on anti-voting in a tv interview.
In this video Russell Brand is very influential and brings up some good points about things such as; how all politicians are the same, the government is full of rich, old, white men; how nothing ever changes in regards to the big issues like poverty and war; and how it's not the voting that's the problem but the government system as a whole. He boldly stated that a revolution is what we need and is definitely on the horizon.
Dutch pro-voting campaign, 'Voteman'
A Dutch voting campaign which tells the story of 'Voteman' who dedicated his life to forcing people to vote through extreme violence after he forgot to vote as a young man and suddenly realised he had no say in anything from Climate Regulations to the amount of cinnamon allowed on his cinnamon bun.
The controversial video shocked through use of violence, sex and humour and I thought was very effective although was pulled off the Danish Parliament youtube account after one day for obvious reasons...
TED Talk - David Bismark on E-voting
David Bismark talks about a revolutionary new voting system he has developed that removes any chance of tampering or lose of votes while making the whole process easier at the same time. Maybe this is a solution to non-voters?
